i:FAO publishes cytric g8 version 9.0 - cytric now with online/offline switch for agency bookings

For corporations cytric has simplified the task of managing complex business trips online. The latest release 9.0 of Europe’s most widely used business travel software contains a completely revised and upgraded “cytric Assisted Booking” module. Companies using cytric can now start and register online also all bookings previously handled offline, and, according to preference, complete online processing or directly forward them to the partner travel agency.

The latest cytric release 9.0 allows companies purchasing business travel to dispense with offline tools, like forms, eMail or the good old telephone. With the revised cytric Assisted Booking cytric delivers the comprehensive functionality needed to enter details of trips previously entered manually and handled by a travel agent. cytric developer i:FAO has fully revised and upgraded its proven cytric Assisted Booking module. Using cytric Assisted Booking users must not call a travel agent. All travel requirements can be easily and secure entered online and are then transmitted electronically to the travel agent. This also applies to complex itineraries involving for example several segments or trips requiring the ordering of price reduced air passes. cytric is therefore the System to handle all business trips.

The new function collects online all preferences of the traveller. All services required are bundled into a shopping cart system and are either directly booked online or transmitted to the partner travel agency for completion. This guarantees that all necessary information is received by the travel agent. The clear advantage of the detailed enquiry into travel requirements prior to further processing: It drastically reduces the number of questions asked by the travel agent.

Using cytric Assisted Booking means that also the data of trips previously organised in the old fashioned offline way is now available to the company. Information on all offline bookings is now available to further cytric functions, for example the Travel Manager Dashboard™, third party interfaces (cytric Companions) and above all to cytric Enterprise Reporting and cytric EXPENSE.

Other important innovations in the current release:

cytric responds with a clever function to policies introduced by airlines to manipulate availability options. Airlines often provide details of flight availability dependent upon specific outbound and inbound flights: fares are often only indicated as being available if they are booked in combination with a specific return flight. Thanks to its Multi Fare Display, cytric is able to indicate the availability of such flights as well. Bookers benefit from more transparency on available offers and have access to best prices. As a result cytric customers generate significant savings.

For rail trips in Great Britain typically two singles combined are significantly cheaper than a return ticket. This is recognized by the two in cytric integrated British rail providers The Trainline and evolvi, and using this cytric calculates in the interest of the cytric customer for every request the fares for two singles and places them into the Grid Pricing™ as the best buy.

More attention to detail also when pre-ordering meals for flights. Using cytric these are entered specifically by airline into the booking - provided the airline supports this function. If an airline allows the “Special Meal” option, this preference can be entered in a free entry field

Companies having an agreement with the association of German Public Transport Operators (VDV) have used cytric to order the ÖPNV card via their travel agents. With the new release cytric can be configured so that credit cards are sufficient as identification for the traveller in public transport services. With this public transport connecting to and from air travel may be used without separate payment.
